EWG Task Forces
The Energy Working Group currently utilizes two Task Forces to further advance the APEC Energy Ministers’ directives.
The objective of the Biofuels Task Force is to help APEC Member Economies better understand the potential for biofuels to displace oil in transport. The Terms of Reference for the Biofuels Task Force were endorsed at EWG31 in May 2006.

ENERGY TRADE AND INVESTMENT TASK FORCE
The strategic objective of the Energy Trade and Investment Task Force is to improve transparency and promote the flexibility and the efficient operation of energy markets in the APEC region. The creation of the Task Force was a direct outcome of the APEC Energy Trade and Investment Roundtable, which was held 30 September - 2 October 2008, in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. This meeting responded to instructions from APEC Energy Ministers in 2007 to promote more efficient energy markets and to facilitate cross border trade.
